Instagram & DIY Weddings..!!

We can thank the wonders of instagram for this amazing wedding..!! We came across Sarah during an instagram stalking session and struck up a chat about their plans. Following that initial contact we met up over a drink to chat some more and thankfully Sarah and Chris decided to book us.!

Sarah was blogging their journey to the wedding on her instagram account which also gave us a brilliant insight into what the day would look like.

They were attempting to stick within a very strict budget and to do this they did most of the decor for the venue themselves. Although they did go slightly over what they eventually had looked like it was twice the price they spent..!! Sarah, her father, Chris and many others who helped have serious DIY skills. Not least Sarah’s mum who also made the cake..!!

Oak Tree Of Peover Wedding Photography

The Oak Tree of Peover is a unique, contemporary venue set in the heart of Cheshire surrounded by stunning countryside views. Oak beams and lots of natural light makes this venue fresh and bright whilst subtle lighting in the evening gives it a magical, romantic feel.

This was only the second time we had shot at the venue but the first since the closed season addition of the ceremony room. The barn itself is bright and airy with the immediate area outside providing both lawn and terracing for guests to relax and enjoy the day.

The wider area around the barn provides a stunning backdrop for photographs.

We asked Sarah and Chris to describe the wedding day in 5 words, they said Personal, Magical, Creative, DIY and Fun..!! I think we can certainly agree with that..!!

They also had some really good advise for any couple setting off on the planning journey;

Just enjoy it and don't sweat the small stuff - weddings are about people not things - in 10 years time you won't remember if you had chair sashes or an amazing band - you'll remember how much fun you had. Enjoy planning - I'm really missing it now!

Wedding Photographs

We asked them to give us a little insight into how they came across us and decided to book us;

We spent blooming hours looking at photographers - I got completely brain boggled and fed up. We knew we wanted someone good at photographs in low lighting - in November half the day was always going to be dark and getting unique shots rather than the usual staged ones. You were found quite by chance following an instagram conversation! We definitely lucked out - you were a delight to work with and the wedding would not have been the same without you. The pictures are incredible - the smoke bomb shot in particular should win an award!
