Firstly, how on earth did we not know about this amazing venue..!! Not 10 mins drive from us is this fabulous working farm which hosts weddings between May and September. Thornsett Fields Farm is set in the Derbyshire countryside just outside Stockport. They have been holding weddings and events for over 10 years and enjoy giving people a day to remember.

As well as being able to see chicks, baby lambs and cows the farm has their own resident celebrity, Mabel the sheep, who loves to have her picture taken with guests. Sadly, she wasn’t feeling up to it on our visit..!

Derbyshire Wedding Photography

When we first met Hannah and Jonathan it was only 8 weeks before the wedding…. let me say that again… 8 WEEKS. It wasn’t that they were looking for a photographer last minute, we were actually one of the first things they booked. After finding us by posting a lead on Fearless Photographers website we met up for a chat and to understand a little more about their plans.

They had booked the venue 18 months earlier but having busy work and social lives didn’t get around to doing anything weddingy until very late indeed.

Although there was only a short period of time to get everything ready this wedding is an example of just what can be achieved in such a short period of time..!! Wow..!! The barn looked AMAZING..!!

The centrepiece was a HUGE mobile with 450 origami birds which Hannah made (ok, sorry Jonathan…. except for one..!!) all by herself..!!

Humanist Wedding Ceremony

We have been fortunate enough to photograph a few humanist ceremonies now and we have to say we absolutely love them. As they are written specifically around the bride and groom it is so much more personal and inclusive of the family and guests. It feels as though everyone is either involved or can relate to at least one of the funny stories and anecdotes..!

We would love to do a supplier shout out but, to be honest…… it was pretty much Hannah and Jonathan that did everything (with a little help from friends and family) even to Hannah making her own dress which she finished on the morning of the wedding.
