Kath + Heath | The Wroxeter Hotel
Shropshire Wedding Photography
What can we say about this AMAZING wedding..!! Kath attended a wedding we covered earlier in the year and after seeing us work told us;
You guys were at a friend's wedding and I remember you being very funny and easy going and creating a really chilled relaxed atmosphere. Didn't feel like we were being summoned for photos. Also they were the best photos I've seen the colour, the rawness of the emotions, no one else.seemed to match this level of skill.’
Then she told us that her fiancé was Australian and that after the wedding she would be moving to Darwin to live.! We first chatted on Skype at which point Heath said he thought my accent was cool (I don’t have an accent…. do I.? :-O) and I think I even suggested I should spend the day dressed like Liam Gallagher..!!

The wedding itself was at The Wroxeter Hotel near Shrewsbury which is set in beautiful countryside halfway between Telford and Shrewsbury. A hidden gem at the Wroxeter Hotel is a rustic woodland ceremony area, an enclosed section of the hotel's grounds encircled by trees and away from the hotel building. Adjacent is a giant Kata tipi complete with fairy lights, furniture and bar ideal for canapés, cocktails and the wedding breakfast.
Humanist Wedding Ceremony
They had a humanist ceremony which was conducted by Maxine Beech and, as with all humanist ceremonies was written around them, their lives together and the future they have planned.
Heath’s close friends and family had made the journey over from Oz with the lads bringing a definite sports theme to the proceedings with Australian Rules Football playing a prominent part.

Of the wedding planning process Kath and Heath said the most memorable part was creating personalised crafty decorations as they were fun to make and helped guests to get to know each other and feel included in the wedding
They also had the following advise, don't let it be all consuming. have set times to read emails, deal with stuff and then stop. You and partner jointly thing of the three most important aspects of the wedding and spend money on that and let the rest go a little e.g. ours was ceremony, photos, music. Keep reminding yourselves of why you are doing it and challenge your thinking if you're just paying for stuff to show off or please others! It's your days not there's!
As for our part in the day they very kindly said we went over and above expectations and Julie, Andy's partner even helped me on with my dress along with calming me down which was not in her job description but happily did it anyway. Fantastic, funny, friendly, down to earth northern couple!! Highly recommend, you wouldn't be disappointed.
